During the Winter
The palms, the bar, the seaweed sunshades, and all the other things on the Palm Beach are moved to indoor facilities during the winter. This way, they will not be damaged by the elements. The season normally lasts from May/ June to September.
Where are the Palms during the off-season?
The palms are moved to the municipality’s greenhouses when the season is over. The greenhouse used for the palms covers 800 square metres and has a ceiling height of eight metres this leaves room the large palms.
Here, they spend the winter at zero to five degrees (Celsius), and they are cared for with water and fertilizer. In these protected surroundings, the palms are able to heal any injury they might have sustained during the summer.
In order for the palms to get use to the direct sunlight before it gets too bright the palms are moved outside the greenhouse. This way, they are gradually geared up for a long season on the beach.
From time to time, different events take place in the greenhouse so that visitors are able to experience the palms out of season.
What about the other beach stuff?
Seaweed sunshades, beach bar, loungers, and courts are packed up and kept in the Garden Centre in the off-season. Of course, some of the things need maintenance, which is taken care of during this period.
